Ladies Only

This post features four lovely ladies of YouTube. Each has their own unique talents and charms. Two of the videos in this post feature singers and the other two tell tales. I think you'll enjoy these videos; watch them all!

First, the news. We recently wrote about the Next Internet Millionaire Reality Show. We said that Joe Castillo (MysteryGuitarMan) was interested in being on the show. There are at least two other well-known YouTubers (and many others) who have made audition videos for the show -- Jacci (FilthyWhore) and CharlesTrippy. Jacci has since decided to remove her video after stating that she did not feel comfortable sending people to the Next Internet Millionaire website. The word around YouTube is that Joel Comm, owner of the website, had written to several of the most subscribed YouTube members offering them $10 to make a positive video about the Contest. I don't know if the story is true or not, but I do know that people have different opinions of Joel Comm and this Next Internet Millionaire Reality Show.

Do your own research and make up your own mind. Here is a link to YouTube videos on the subject, and you can click this link to learn about one moneymaking product that Joel Comm sells: Google AdSense Secrets 3.0 ebook

Blog #1 - I'm Sarah

Here's the first blog from a young lady that I really like to watch! Her YouTube name is chrystallinegreen. Sarah is a dark haired beauty who just turned 23 and lives in Belgium. She tells us a little about herself in this video, in a most delightful way! Be sure to watch Sarah's singing videos, she has a very good voice. I recommend Umbrella, it's great! Also watch her comic Chin Video; it made me laugh!

For the BBB Contest

Here's another great video from someone I wrote about before, UndiscoveredJulie. Julie is one of the most creative and entertaining videomakers on YouTube! When one of her videos shows up in your subscription list, you never know what you are going to see, but it's always clever and/or funny! Here's a touching video in which Julie tells the story of the nicest thing anyone has ever done for her. Awww, its precious to watch!

Why Should I - Jennifer Newberry

There's a new singing talent on YouTube - JenniferNew21. Jennifer (here's her other YT channel) is an attractive blond haired Swedish woman with an excellent singing voice. This is a pop dance song that Jennifer co-wrote. She looks great singing it in her leather cap. Watch this video then check out the rest of her songs! Also, visit her website and the other sites that are linked in this video's description box on YouTube.

YOU WOULD BE HERE

We finish off with a sultry song sung by singer/songwriter/guitarist sarahpackiam. Sarah says on her myspace that she was born in Ireland 23 years ago and now lives in Spain and sings with her family. She only has two other videos on YouTube but you can hear more of her music on myspace. Watch this one, you'll like it!

Celestialsam Writes

If this is your first time here, welcome to YouTubeStars -- one of the best and longest running blogs about YouTube videos and videomakers. Usually KennyWrites the posts here, but one time Urgelt wrote a guest post. Today, Celestialsam writes about three videos she has enjoyed.

But first, the news. VenetianPrincess has started an interactive period-style murder mystery video series. She sets up the story in her video and wants other videomakers to get involved. I think this sounds like a lot of fun! Check out the first video and see what YOU can do to continue the story.

The Zimmers, that geriatric singing group from the UK that includes Geriatric1927, is releasing its first song on Monday May 28th. As you may know by now, the song is The Who's anthem, "My Generation". You can see the video for the song on our YouTube Top 100 Weekly Chart.

Following this introductory text and video is the post by guest writer, Celestialsam. Sam is YouTube's queen of lipsync videos. She delights her fans regularly with her charming performances of an eclectic range of musical numbers. But Sam is a talented writer too. Have a look at poetry she recently posted on one of her websites; it's quite good! Here is one of Sam's most recent lipsync masterpieces:

Oh, Bunny

Okay, let's see a few of Sam's recent video picks!

Star in our Eyes

Andreas a.k.a. AericWinter of Germany has just recently released a new tribute to his lovely girlfriend, Liv. His video "Star in our Eyes" is jam-packed with exquisite photos of Liv herself and a behind the scenes look at how each graceful pose was captured. Move over Gwyneth Paltrow, indeed! Liv's classic elegance is sweet eye-candy.

Lean On Me (Bill Withers Cover) feat. Aleisha & Lauri :-)

For the very first time, Kris Shred, Aleisha Russel, and her daughter, Lauri come together in Heidelberg, Germany and unite to perform a delightful cover of Bill Withers' "Lean on Me" that's sure to bring a smile to your face. Stay tuned to the very end for Lauri's special surprise ending of "Lean on Me (Bill Withers Cover) feat. Aleisha & Lauri :-)".

Videos, of course

Time to watch a few more videos! This time, we'll learn about becoming an internet millionaire, see surfing sheep, watch a flute concert, and check in with Jane!

But first, the News. The L.A. Times reported this week that LittleLoca (Stevie Ryan) has been signed as one of four hosts of the new CW reality series "Online Nation," making her one of the few YouTube stars to land a paid TV gig. Congrats, LittleLoca!!!

In other news, the 2BuxMall is moving along well in Beta testing. Soon, videomakers will have a new way to promote themselves and things they might have for sale.

There's still not a whole lot of movement on the Top 100 Weekly Chart, but I predict that this summer, we'll see some new rising YouTubeStars!

If you're a musician, or just want your videos to play in the highest quality possible, join LiveVideo and upload your videos there. Sure, you already upload to YouTube, but why not get even more exposure by uploading to LiveVideo too!!! Click the blue "Less Tube. More You!" picture at the top of the left column to go to LiveVideo, now!

Joe Castillo - Movie Extra Extraordinaire

Here's another creative and funny video from MysteryGuitarMan. It's really two videos in one. Joe talks about his movie career but there's mention of the Next Internet Millionaire. What's that all about? It's a new reality show and MGM wants to be on it. So go vote for him at The Next Internet Millionaire!!! The Lambs Are Back

What's cuter than baby Lambs? Not much! Okay, so they aren't surfing; they're running around Becxie's green fields in Wales. But Becky chose WipeOut, that 60s surf classic, as the soundtrack for this cute movie - a fun song for a fun film. Watch it with the whole family!

Telemann Flute Fantasie in b minor

It's not all guitar and piano playing musicians on YouTube. There are flute players too. Among the best is ninaflute. Nina Perlove has performed as a flutist throughout the United States and Europe, and teaches at Northern Kentucky University. Listen to this excellent classical flute performance!

In her words, "she is a weird, Quirky Teenage Girl" but her fans have made her one of the most popular vloggers in the history of YouTube. Jane has over 6000 subscribers and was in the Top 100 most subscribed earlier in her career. Watch this video, in which she recommends some songs to listen to, and commenters recommend songs to her. School's Out!

School's out for Summer! You worked hard at your studies, now it's time to enjoy life for a while. I have a feeling that we're about to see a surge in new YouTube videos, as people use their free time to watch and create movies. For maximum exposure, post your cool new Summer videos on both YouTube AND LiveVideo! Go join LiveVideo by clicking on that blue ad at the top of the left column.

We'll start the fun this week with a video that has a "School's Out" theme. Then we'll watch a 14-year-old female singer/yodeler sing a song that won her a world championship. Next up, we'll see Day One in a new singing series that celebrates Classic Rock. We'll end with a mystery/controversy; something to think about now that school is done hogging all of your brain cells!

Summer Is Almost Here!!

Now that the semester is over, it's time to head home and enjoy the friends and family that you've missed during the school year. Katiwren27 has made a short video about just that! Kati calls this a pointless video, but I think it is representative of the excitement that many students are feeling these days. Be sure to also watch Kati's "56 Things I Learned" in college and see if you agree or disagree with each of her "things".

Tiffany Jo's MIND BLOWING YODELING!!!

I can't watch this video without a huge grin spreading across my face! Young miss TiffanyJoAllen is only 14, but she has full-grown talent. She has been singing since she was 9, so she is young but not a novice. Watch her yodel her little heart out in this video filmed at the 2007 Tucson Folk Festival. You'll see why she is an International Yodeling Champion!

day one of rock week!

Here's a fun idea! Pick a bunch of your favorite songs and sing along. Everyone does it, but not everyone films it! Mrspassic decided to do just that, and she invites everyone to do the same in response videos. Sarah starts her Classic Rock video list off with a tribute to Aerosmith as she sings along to "Don't Wanna Miss a Thing". She really connects with the emotion of this song; watch and see! Then, make your own singing video - hey, why not, School's Out and you have plenty of free time now!

Smoking, Tobacco Industry and Youtube

Is the Tobacco Industry paying people to make YouTube videos that portray Smoking in a postive light? Usmedstudent, a first year medical student, thinks that they just might be! He thinks that the Tobacco Industry is engaging in Buzz Marketing, a deceptive form of advertising because the people making the vids appear to be "real" people. Are the Pro-Smoking videomakers "real" people just expressing their enjoyment of Smoking, or are they "fakes" who are paid to market concepts and products? Watch the video and express your opinions in the comments. The debate has already begun between usmedstudent and vesperae, a woman who interacts "with others in the Smoking Fetish Community," in this video's comments. What are YOUR thoughts on this???

The YouTubeStars Show!

Come on in - sit down and get comfortable. It's time for the YouTubeStars Variety Show! Live, in the YouTubeStars theater tonight, we'll see a singer, watch a birdwatcher, enjoy a classical guitarist, and thrill to a crowd of youths singing along with an American Idol. Get ready, the show is about to start - and it's a really big show!

First, a little news. For those who have not heard, YouTube has rolled out revenue sharing. Don't get too excited yet... only a few people will get any money. Read the YouTube blog entry about this, and also see this New York Times Story.

Friends, if you like YouTube, you'll like LiveVideo too! I'm sure you've heard by now that LiveVideo is a video sharing site very much like YouTube, except the comments, messaging and blocking systems seem to work better there. Also, the sound of their videos is higher quality, and in stereo! If you have a YouTube account, you should have a LiveVideo account too. Click on the blue LiveVideo banner on the left and join now. Many of your YouTube friends are already there, and so is Captain Kirk - that's right - William Shatner makes videos on LiveVideo - and you should too!

Invisible (Original)

First on our stage tonight is a nice young lady nicknamed "randrigh". Roxy is a singer/songwriter from Canada who plays the guitar and the piano. Let's give a warm welcome to Roxy, here to sing us an original composition called "Invisible".

If you can't see the video above, watch it on YouTube.

Thank you Roxy, that was a wonderful performance! I may have heard one mis-strum but your smile made up for it! I recommend that our audience also watch Roxy sing for her sister and play the piano. She is really a talented young lady and we're glad that we had her here on our stage tonight!

Oh, you caught me off Guard!!!?!

Next on our stage, we have a delightful nature/comedy skit about birdwatching, by pagekv. Kathleen recently moved from the Chicago area to scenic Arizona. Let's watch as Kathleen watches the birds, and us!

If you can't see the video above, watch it on YouTube.

Thank you, Kathleen - love the hat! I want our audience to know that Kathleen is more than just a pretty face - she also is a talented artist and sells her own "jewelry made from the heart"!

Memories - Classical Composition

My good friend capo420420, who has wow'ed the audience playing his guitar on this stage and recently had the number 5 most watched video on cellphones, has been telling me about a classical guitar virtuoso named chudnovsky. This young man named Alex composes his own classical tunes and plays them on his guitar. He can also be seen on LiveVideo and we're proud to have him right here, tonight! Please welcome chudnovsky, playing "Memories"!

If you can't see the video above, watch it on YouTube.

Thanks, Alex, for that wonderful performance. You know, Alex can rock too! I know I caught you by surprise, but play us a little electric guitar jam! Ahh, very nice, Alex!

YouTube Webstars - Since You've Been Gone - Kelly Clarkson

And now, to close out the show, we have a nice group of young people singing and dancing to Kelly Clarkson's hit song, "Since You've Been Gone." This performance is choreographed by agentScarn. Let's have a really big hand for these fine youngsters!

If you can't see the video above, watch it on YouTube.

That was a really fine performance! Our audience will also want to see agentScarn's youngsters singing and dancing along to Cascada's "Everytime we touch" - it's really a lot of fun to watch!

That's our show for this week. Join us here at the theater next time for another really big show! Goodnight!
