Julie, Molly, Jodie and Paul

This time, we'll see a crazy Q & A video, a thoughtfully posed query with many responses, a celebrity parody and a vlog that recaps recent activity by a YouTubeStar. We're reported on Julie, Molly, Jodie and Paul before, but they continue to make excellent videos, so let's see what's new!

YouTube continues to attract viewers. Have a look at the Top 100 Chart on any given week and you'll see that almost all the YouTubers on the chart have gained subscribers over the previous week. People from all over the world (except for maybe Thailand and Turkey) continue to come to YouTube to watch music videos, laugh at crazy antics, or connect with others in this new face-driven medium. Chris Crocker is creating publicity for YouTube lately with his "Leave Britney Alone" video, which got him on the Jimmy Kimmel show and now has over 9 Million Views! Chris moved up 6 spots on the chart this week, to the number 15 spot by gaining over 11 Thousand new subscribers. I think that the YouTube newbies will find many other talented and entertaining people to watch, if they know where to look. I would invite them to subscribe to this blog (use the box in the left column) so they can be made aware of some excellent videomakers! And since YOU are reading YouTubeStars, why not email your friends and ask them to have a look too. Thanks!

Julie the Free

UndiscoveredJulie is one of the best improv skitmakers on YouTube. Her videos are crazy but very entertaining! In a recent video, she asked viewers to submit questions that she would answer in a future video. I submitted a question and Julie answered it in this video. Thanks, Julie! are you anybody's favourite person?

I believe that one reason for YouTube's popularity is the ease with which one can communicate with interesting people from all around the world. Mememolly has made a bunch of interesting videos - music videos, response videos and vlogs. In this film, she poses a thought provoking question, "Are you anyone's favorite person?" This struck a chord with YouTubers and they replied with almost 900 comments and over 70 response videos. Read more about Molly, here.

Brangelina Parody- "Adopt Me Too" Music Video

VenetianPrincess makes a music video! She sings of her desire to be adopted by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. The song is cute; the video is funny and well edited. VP (Jodie) has a wide range of talents, as can be seen in her popular Princess videos and the amazing XBox mini-movie. Now she can add this parody (as well as her Giuliani "Crush" parody) to her list of hits! Read more about Jodie here.

Chris Crocker's plan to post his Suicide Video on YouTube

Renetto is undeniably a YouTubeStar. He has consistently been on in the Top 40 and has seen steady subscriber growth over the last year. Some of his films are over the top crazy, while others provide analysis and spark discussion about the YouTube community. In this rather long movie, Paul recaps some of what he has been talking about in recent vids and comments on the "What the Buck" and Chris Crocker recent runs at fame. Agree or disagree, Renetto often mentions topics in his videos that launch lengthy discussions in their comment sections. Dialog is a good thing!

Getting to Know YOU

The latest YouTube craze is responding to peron75's "Getting to Know YOU...TUBE!" video. Michael Buckley makes videos on the peron75 channel and is also the host and writer of the WHAT THE BUCK shows. In his Getting to Know YOU film, he asks YouTubers to do a response video answering the questions he asks, such as -
1. What's your first name?
2. Where are you from?
3. How old are you?
He also poses "bonus" questions like -
What would you do with Power of Ten winnings?
What magazines do you subscribe to?
Favorite TV show on the air now and why?
Favorite TV show ever!
What are you most proud of?

This video came out on August 29th and already has almost 50 thousand views. Everyone seems to be making a video response, there are almost 400 so far! This question answering craze seems to have it's origin in Renetto's "Who are you" video from last year (read about that, here). Of course, surveys like this are always popular on myspace.

Michael's channels have been moving up the charts nicely. The WTB show is at number 19, up 6 spots from last week. The peron75 channel is at number 57, up 4 positions.

Here are a few of the best responses to Michael Buckley's Getting to Know YOU...TUBE! video.

Celestialsam Writes, part 3

Hello readers! Here's another guest post from the lovely and talented Celestialsam. If you haven't watched yet, be sure to see her hilarious Britney lipsync and her wonderful tribute to Kris Shred.

Ysabellabrave has gone done it again! That's right, our beloved MaryAnne has created another masterpiece, which she entitles "Baby One." All effects seen in the video are her own. It is not only a visually stunning representation of her creative talents, but a brain child of her alluring voice and countless hours of dedication. Lose yourself in her ethreal voice and; above all, don't be afraid to get up and dance!

Can't get enough of ysabellabrave? Then be sure to watch "Ysabella Brave's 100th Video!!!" It will make you laugh; it will make you cry; it will make you get on your knees and beg for more! Join MaryAnne for a trip down memory lane. Don't hesitate. Celebrate!

Back in July, TomsterMusic created one of the most heartbreaking videos I have ever seen. In his video "'FERAL CHILD' VIDEO PREMIERE (PLEASE read description)", he sings of a true story concerning a girl who was trapped in isolation and strapped to a potty-chair for approximately 13 years. When finally discovered, she could not speak and could scarcely walk. Indeeed, you will wonder "How could anyone do this?"

A talent I've recently happened upon is that of jennywillemstijn777. Jenny belts out notes so fine in her video "Me singing Crazy (Gnarles Barkley)", that she leaves Barkley in the dust! With such a powerful voice and beautiful features, one wonders if she could be YouTube's next greatest sensation!

Are you tired of today's mainstream music? Are you sick of women selling their bodies in music videos? Have you had enough of the same regurgitated lyrics that pop and rap have been degenerated to? If you can relate, watch Kaliazzura's latest video "Umbrella/Best Sella (Rihanna/Leesha Harvey) Kali Azzura". Don't forget to see the original video by LeeshaHarvey "Parody of "Umbrella" by Rihanna (aka "Best Sella").

Great Music Videos

Here are four great music videos! The first three are from young girls with big voices. I think we'll be hearing more from them in the future. Each one has a good singing voice and the potential for a successful singing career if they work at it. The last video is from a musician who was recently a medic in Iraq. Enjoy them all!

But first, the News! There is a channel on YouTube that featured videos of missing children. This channel, DontYouForgetAboutMe, has been getting some publicity lately because of its partnership with the Find Madeleine website. You've probably heard about Madeleine McCann, the 4 year old girl who went missing this past May while on holiday with her family in Portugal. The International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC), in collaboration with the Find Madeleine Campaign, is providing this page as a public service in an effort to help reunite missing children with their families. There are 42 videos on the channel of missing children. You may want to have a look at the videos and email your friends to ask them to look too.

The YouTube Top 100 Weekly Chart celebrates it's One Year anniversary! Have a look at the chart and see who the 100 most popular YouTubers are this week, and how they changed position in the chart from last week. Click on the chart icon and see one year's worth of subscriber data for YouTubeStars like Lonelygirl15, thewinekone, TheHill88, Boh3m3, and many more. This week's Featured Video is "Are You Afraid", a great music video by CreativeFisher.

KristaHeartzuz Singing RESPECT (Request)

Krista is a 13 year old girl with a lot of talent! She has a great singing voice and makes enjoyable music videos for YouTube. She recently had her account deleted because she had started posting videos before she turned 13 and YouTube has been cracking down on underage users. Interestingly enough, Krista had turned 13 just as YouTube deleted her original account. But she is back with the KristaHeartzuz channel and has reposted some of her older films including this great cover of Respect by Aretha Franklin. Enjoy her singing, dancing and acting!

Respect - Jessica Sanchez singing at the Apollo

Here's another cover of Respect, this time by 10 year old Jessica. She is at the Apollo theatre and is introduced by Whoopi Goldburg - nice! You may wonder how a 10 year old has a YouTube channel. Well, this is actually her mom's channel. Jessica is a little girl with a big voice and she will go far in the future.

Paula Hernandez Caramelito 1ºsemifinal Veo Veo 2007

14 year old Paula sings this original song on Spanish TV. Most of the lyrics are in Spanish but part of the chorus is in English. It's a great upbeat tune and she has fun singing and dancing with the other dancers. You can listen to a higher quality version of this song on her myspace. I love this song!

She Wants Some

This is a really nice original song from Ray Gerber. Two years ago, Ray was a medic in Iraq. He's still in the Reserves and plays guitar for the 319th Army Reserve band from New York. I like the chord structure of this song, as well as Ray's performance of it. Check out his myspace for more music!
