She is Vanessa Hudgens sister. Watch them sing and clown around!

We have a NEW Featured Video every week on our YouTube Top 100 Chart. If you missed any of our Previously Featured Videos, you can still watch them here.

Check out our Top 100 and Top 200 Charts of the Most Subscribed YouTube Channels every week!

Congrats to UndiscoveredJulie! It's been over a year since we heard from this queen of improv and wacky comedy. Julie is back to tell us that she is now married and has an adorable little girl. Thanks for the update and best wishes to you and your family, Julie!

Now, watch this heartfelt exchange between Alissa and Will.

MissAlissa15 is a 19 year old woman from Oregon with a magnetic personality. Her charming comedy and vlog videos are very popular on YouTube. Alissa recently made a different kind of video called "Delete" in which she talked about how helpful it can be to write out a long emotional message and then delete it without sending it. She admits that she gets depressed and thinks a lot at night. She remembers that she used to be able to confront someone who hurt her feelings in order to try to work it out. But now she writes long unsent messages as a form of therapy rather than risking rejection by actually sending such messages. Watch and listen to Alissa as she explains herself better than this description!

Tumnusmusic is the music channel for a young man named Will who was inspired by Alissa's video to talk about the anxiety he has felt recently. His feelings are generally the result of his sense of loss of a dear friend who intentionally took a fatal overdose. Will speaks from the heart and sings an original song about his friend, in his video response. I was moved and so was Alissa. This exchange is in the comments:

you, sir, absolutely fascinate me. i am in love with the way you carry yourself. it all seems so awkward, calculated and passionate. i know you've got so much in your heart and that makes you absolutely beautiful. incredible song and vlog. thanks so much for sharing yourself with me :) ♥

@MissAlissa15 wowowowoww okay just the fact you commented made my day. so much support can be found all around you, i guess you just never know when it will show up or where you look. :)

Alissa has a second channel named MissPepperoni. In this emotional video, she thanks Will for his response video. She says she loves response videos and also that she can identify with people who have anxiety and depression issues like she does. She says that response videos like this make her feel less alone.

Right before this video, Alissa made a fun video in which she grooves to various songs. Watch that video to get an idea of how she usually appears in her videos!

Here are a bunch of new videos from people we have written about before. We'll start off with a video from Renetto about the new video sharing community for vloggers - VloggerHeads.com. For more information on VloggerHeads, see out VloggerHeads blog.

OlgaKay made a fun collab with a few other YT ladies on Internet Crushes. They discuss guys they like. Watch and enjoy as they interact!

CelestialSam is an up-and-coming actress who is making increasingly intricate videos as she practices her craft. Here's a recent one on the topic of "madness" and "murder" !!!

Livingpassion recently uploaded a video in which she recited an enjoyable original poem, as she has often done before. This time, PeriUrban decided to set the words to music! Livingpassion responds to his value-added video by covering Peri's song. She sings her lyrics to his tune, pretty cool!

UndiscoveredJulie is back with a skit featuring her character "Totally Claire." Claire will teach you how to be confident! Very funny and creative, watch and enjoy!

Artemisbell has made hundreds of cool dance videos. She plays a popular song and then films herself dancing with high energy to the beat. Always graceful and stylish, here is a recent dance from artemisbell. Be sure to also watch the animated tribute response video!

Juststircrazy is one of the great new vloggers on YouTube. But her vids are more than vlogs, they are creative mini-movies; well written, acted, filmed and edited. Don't get the idea that Juststircrazy is an actor, she is very real. Check out this video about what Dance is, in her opinion.

It's Super Tuesday! Who will be the Democrat candidate? Who will be the Republican candidate? I don't know! If you're looking for a political blog, this isn't it. If you're looking for interesting and entertaining videomakers and their videos, this is the place to find them! We've been bringing you recommendations on YouTubers and YouTube videos since June 2006. We have over 100 posts on this blog. We've talked about almost 200 videomakers. We've mentioned over 300 videos. Please Subscribe to Email Updates of this blog (Use the box on the left below the Links) so you can stay up to date with YouTube News and the latest and greatest YouTubeStars!

So what's up with YouTube? Is the video sharing service still the hottest thing online? Is it still gaining new users/viewers? According to this January 21st TV Week story, YouTube's traffic decreased for 2 weeks in a row in January. Now, this February 4th TV Week article reports this about YouTube, "For the week ending Jan. 27, the world’s biggest video site drew 30.7 million unique visitors, about on par with the week before..." It appears that the number of people visiting YouTube has plateaued. But if we look at the number of subscribers for the Top 100 Most Subscribed YouTube Channels, we can see that the number of subscribers keeps growing for almost all channels on the chart. How can this be? If the number of visitors is not increasing, then either the visitors who do visit YouTube include many who are signing up and subscribing to channels for the first time, or current YouTube members are subscribing to more and more channels over time. I know I fall into the second category. I didn't subscribe to many channels for the first several months of my YouTube life. But now, 18 months into my membership, I subscribe to 366 channels!

Is there a better site to share videos on? Well, last year at this time, everyone was singing the praises of LiveVideo. It seemed that everything that didn't work on YouTube worked very well on LiveVideo - and their videos were in stereo, an improvement over YouTube's mono sound. Many YouTubers created an account on LiveVideo and many still post videos to both sites. LiveVideo even has some very entertaining channels that are not on YouTube, such as blonde teen vlogger Alex and the one and only Captain James T. Kirk (now Denny Crane), William Shatner. But YouTube has fixed some of its problems and it still has a much larger community than any other video site. Even so, it is a very good idea to sign up with LiveVideo! Don't put all your video eggs in one basket, show your videos on YouTube AND LiveVideo. Please click on the "Less Tube. More You!" ad at the top of our lefthand column on this page to check out LiveVideo. Get your account there TODAY!

What's up with Renetto? Is he teaming up with partners to create a better YouTube? Check out his long and emotional half-hour video, "Take a wild guess who I TAGGED... " and also his vid on organizing the revolt. Let's see where this goes!

In the meantime, several YouTubers are doing very well for themselves! We've talked about TiffanyJoAllen here several times. She is a young country singer who became famous from her Yodeling skills and is now becoming a YouTubeStar by posting country covers of pop tunes. Here's a chart of her subscriber numbers, as recorded by our FREE YTStats service:

Tiffany recently did a very interesting non-musical video about the little known dangers of braces. We'll see that video further on in this post.

VenetianPrincess recently won Samsung's national talent search, the Jukebox Hero contest. She was awarded $10,000 in prizes of her choice; congrats Jodie!!! Also, her music video will be played on the Samsung cell phone commercial, and she will be going on a televised promotional tour for Samsung across the country! Read more about the contest, here. Here is VP herself, talking about this news in a video:

Madeline, the How To Girl, has been on the Rachael Ray show! She's also been on a Wisconsin NBC affiliate's news show. Watch Madeline's behind-the-scenes video as she is filmed on the NBC show along with a Rachael Ray clip, here:

Now, here are 4 NEW videos by 4 talented YouTube ladies that we've talked about here before. Watch and enjoy!

UndiscoveredJulie had not made a video for 2 months and she was sorely missed! Now she's back to answer questions, make funny faces and sing a song. Julie always makes great vids with improv'ed sketches, cool accents and sweet songs. Subscribe to UndiscoveredJulie now!

Randrigh is back too! I love Roxy's music and her little stories that often preceed her singing. Roxy has been having tough times in Japan and that has led to some powerful new original songs. In her own words,

I was thinking about how when people find something beautiful, like a flower, they feel the need to take it and make it their own, tearing it away from its home and putting it in a glass vase (killing it in the process) admiring it until it dies and then having to throw it out...what a tragic waste of beautiful life!

I figure if we really loved something we would simply let it be, rather than wanting to have it and killing it in the process...
so I guess this song is about learning to admire things that we find beautiful from a distance rather than rushing to possess it and killing it in the process... it's also my way of saying that life, in any shape or form, is too precious to let it go to waste, especially for selfish reasons...

Subscribe to randrigh now!

TiffanyJoAllen is a rising YouTubeStar! As I mentioned above, she now has almost 9 thousand subscribers. Everyone loves her country versions of pop songs. But right now, lets watch Tiffany talk about a scary health issue she recently had to endure, due to her braces! Tiffany says,

Braces can make you very sick. Share this with your friends. Not being able to breathe is very scary and can be life threatening. I went
to so many doctors and had so much testing. I hope by telling my story I might save even one person from having to live this nightmare. Thankfully,I am well now since mine were removed. If you have questions please feel free to ask. I can share my experience but ultimately you will need to ask your doctor.

Subscribe to TiffanyJoAllen now!

We've been writing about Daraghna since she was "just little." Angharad had been away too; it had been 7 months since her last video, way toooo long! She's back with her version of Amy Winehouse's "Rehab." Enjoy her unique and stylish interpretation of this cool song, then watch some of her other videos. Subscribe to Darahgna now!

This time, we'll see a crazy Q & A video, a thoughtfully posed query with many responses, a celebrity parody and a vlog that recaps recent activity by a YouTubeStar. We're reported on Julie, Molly, Jodie and Paul before, but they continue to make excellent videos, so let's see what's new!

YouTube continues to attract viewers. Have a look at the Top 100 Chart on any given week and you'll see that almost all the YouTubers on the chart have gained subscribers over the previous week. People from all over the world (except for maybe Thailand and Turkey) continue to come to YouTube to watch music videos, laugh at crazy antics, or connect with others in this new face-driven medium. Chris Crocker is creating publicity for YouTube lately with his "Leave Britney Alone" video, which got him on the Jimmy Kimmel show and now has over 9 Million Views! Chris moved up 6 spots on the chart this week, to the number 15 spot by gaining over 11 Thousand new subscribers. I think that the YouTube newbies will find many other talented and entertaining people to watch, if they know where to look. I would invite them to subscribe to this blog (use the box in the left column) so they can be made aware of some excellent videomakers! And since YOU are reading YouTubeStars, why not email your friends and ask them to have a look too. Thanks!

Julie the Free

UndiscoveredJulie is one of the best improv skitmakers on YouTube. Her videos are crazy but very entertaining! In a recent video, she asked viewers to submit questions that she would answer in a future video. I submitted a question and Julie answered it in this video. Thanks, Julie! Read more about Julie, here.

are you anybody's favourite person?

I believe that one reason for YouTube's popularity is the ease with which one can communicate with interesting people from all around the world. Mememolly has made a bunch of interesting videos - music videos, response videos and vlogs. In this film, she poses a thought provoking question, "Are you anyone's favorite person?" This struck a chord with YouTubers and they replied with almost 900 comments and over 70 response videos. Read more about Molly, here.

Brangelina Parody- "Adopt Me Too" Music Video

VenetianPrincess makes a music video! She sings of her desire to be adopted by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. The song is cute; the video is funny and well edited. VP (Jodie) has a wide range of talents, as can be seen in her popular Princess videos and the amazing XBox mini-movie. Now she can add this parody (as well as her Giuliani "Crush" parody) to her list of hits! Read more about Jodie here.

Chris Crocker's plan to post his Suicide Video on YouTube

Renetto is undeniably a YouTubeStar. He has consistently been on in the Top 40 and has seen steady subscriber growth over the last year. Some of his films are over the top crazy, while others provide analysis and spark discussion about the YouTube community. In this rather long movie, Paul recaps some of what he has been talking about in recent vids and comments on the "What the Buck" and Chris Crocker recent runs at fame. Agree or disagree, Renetto often mentions topics in his videos that launch lengthy discussions in their comment sections. Dialog is a good thing!

This post features four lovely ladies of YouTube. Each has their own unique talents and charms. Two of the videos in this post feature singers and the other two tell tales. I think you'll enjoy these videos; watch them all!

First, the news. We recently wrote about the Next Internet Millionaire Reality Show. We said that Joe Castillo (MysteryGuitarMan) was interested in being on the show. There are at least two other well-known YouTubers (and many others) who have made audition videos for the show -- Jacci (FilthyWhore) and CharlesTrippy. Jacci has since decided to remove her video after stating that she did not feel comfortable sending people to the Next Internet Millionaire website. The word around YouTube is that Joel Comm, owner of the website, had written to several of the most subscribed YouTube members offering them $10 to make a positive video about the Contest. I don't know if the story is true or not, but I do know that people have different opinions of Joel Comm and this Next Internet Millionaire Reality Show.

Do your own research and make up your own mind. Here is a link to YouTube videos on the subject, and you can click this link to learn about one moneymaking product that Joel Comm sells: Google AdSense Secrets 3.0 ebook

Blog #1 - I'm Sarah

Here's the first blog from a young lady that I really like to watch! Her YouTube name is chrystallinegreen. Sarah is a dark haired beauty who just turned 23 and lives in Belgium. She tells us a little about herself in this video, in a most delightful way! Be sure to watch Sarah's singing videos, she has a very good voice. I recommend Umbrella, it's great! Also watch her comic Chin Video; it made me laugh!

For the BBB Contest

Here's another great video from someone I wrote about before, UndiscoveredJulie. Julie is one of the most creative and entertaining videomakers on YouTube! When one of her videos shows up in your subscription list, you never know what you are going to see, but it's always clever and/or funny! Here's a touching video in which Julie tells the story of the nicest thing anyone has ever done for her. Awww, its precious to watch!

Why Should I - Jennifer Newberry

There's a new singing talent on YouTube - JenniferNew21. Jennifer (here's her other YT channel) is an attractive blond haired Swedish woman with an excellent singing voice. This is a pop dance song that Jennifer co-wrote. She looks great singing it in her leather cap. Watch this video then check out the rest of her songs! Also, visit her website and the other sites that are linked in this video's description box on YouTube.

YOU WOULD BE HERE

We finish off with a sultry song sung by singer/songwriter/guitarist sarahpackiam. Sarah says on her myspace that she was born in Ireland 23 years ago and now lives in Spain and sings with her family. She only has two other videos on YouTube but you can hear more of her music on myspace. Watch this one, you'll like it!

This is part 20 in our continuing series, Cinema du jour, the movie of the day. In this episode we'll see another great singer/guitarist music video, watch and listen to an interesting lipsync, see a short self-parody, and witness the start of a huge chain of videos on wonderful quotes.

First, let's have a look at this week's YouTube Top 100 Weekly Chart. The first thing you'll notice is that this week's Featured Video is from KrisShred who we wrote about in the last Cinema du jour. Kris made this video as a response to another version of the same song. We'll be seeing that video in this post! Daxflame continues to climb the chart. This week, he is at Number 52, up 9 from last week. Also, making his debut at Number 85 is EclecticAsylumArt, the fabulous artist we mentioned in our last post.

And now, on with the show...

You've Got to Hide Your Love Away

Here is a very nice cover of a Beatles tune that was in the movie "Help!" It is from Rockstar122083, also known as Justina, a 23 year old singer/songwriter/guitarist. She has 11 videos posted so far and some are from live gigs that she has done. Watch and enjoy the beautiful performance, then stick around for the blooper reel at the end!

If you can't see the video above, watch it on YouTube.

I Think I'm Singing

I'd like to introduce you to a talented and entertaining woman named UndiscoveredJulie. Julie is an 18 year old college student who likes to act and do improv's. She has 30 videos on YouTube. Most are entertaining skits and a few are blogs in which Julie gives her views on things. You should subscribe to this smart and funny woman; I did! Here is a cute singing video with a surprise ending!

If you can't see the video above, watch it on YouTube.

A Message from the Creators

One of the coolest guys on YouTube is MysteryGuitarMan. Joe's videos are clever, funny and entertaining. This film is no different. I don't want to say much about it here because I don't want to give the plot away. You'll just have to see it for yourself. Watch and enjoy!

If you can't see the video above, watch it on YouTube.

Collective Wisdom- Be A Part of It!

U2bianSynic made a video on March 10 in which she asked YouTubers to find three quotes and make a video response with them. The quotes were to be any that the person found to be inspiring - about success, pushing the limits, facing fears, etc. Today, March 26, there are 31 excellent responses! I found this video by viewing Logana13's response video. The original video is "Embedding disabled by request", but you can follow this link to watch it. Then watch some of the great responses!

Be sure to read our last Cinema du jour, Number 19 - Singers with Guitars, featuring CreativeFisher, stealurface1976, KrisShred and PeriUrban.
