YouTube Stars!

This is post number 190 at YouTubeStars! We've been doing this for over 4 years now and our popularity continue to increase. Google Analytics says we had 17,421 pageviews in the last month; thanks to all our readers!

Also, we have been publishing our "YouTube Top 100 - A Weekly Chart of the 100 Most Subscribed YouTube Members" every week since mid 2006, and now our Chart gets almost as many pageviews as this blog. A few months ago, we launched our Top 200 Weekly Chart, which has the top 200 Most Subscribed channels on YouTube. This is data that you can only get from our Chart. YouTube doesn't provide this information. They only show the top 100 Most Subscribed channels. So check out our Top 100 and Top 200 Charts every week!

Savannah Berry, whose YouTube channel is SavannahSings gave us some exciting news this week. While vacationing in Orlando with her family, Savannah auditioned at Disney Studios for the American Idol Experience and qualified for a producers audition, allowing her to skip all the long lines! She auditions for American Idol next month; good luck Savannah!
Wait, there's more! Savannah was just chosen to open for platinum selling artist Sammy Kershaw at the July 17th fundraiser for the E.C.H.O Foundation at at Tin Hall, in Texas. Read more, here.


We mentioned in our Mike Lombardo Interview that Mike was competing at OurStage to open for John Mayer. He came in first out of hundreds of bands after rounds of fan judging. Now the OurStage people will select the winning band that gets to open for John Mayer. Click the pic and watch the video (which is kind of loud) - Mike will tell you all about it!


We have been writing about the Emo Kids since we first began this blog over 4 years ago. "Matt" was one of the first YouTubeStars and helped to make YouTube the sensation it is today. He went away for a while, came back, left again, but is now back with a new string of videos. Eclipse, the third movie in the Twilight Saga, was released last week and has already taken in $300 million at the Box Office. But not everyone likes the books. The vlogbrothers have organized VidCon 2010, a conference for and about videomakers. It runs from July 9th through 11th and takes place in Los Angeles, which just had a 5.9 magnitude Earthquake! Aldo Blaga is a 23 year old man from Romania who has one of the best singing voices on YouTube! I've heard thousands of singers on YouTube in the last 5 years and I know what I'm talking about. Just have a listen to his cover of Crying, originally done by Roy Orbison in the summer of 1961. Then listen to any other song he uploaded and you'll be just as pleased. This man is going to go far!





Charming and popular YouTube musician Tiffany Jo Allen is back with an awesome cover of Gnarles Barkley's "Crazy." Tiffany Jo has about 110 Thousand subscribers and over 28 Million Total Upload views, making her one of the more popular musicians on YouTube. She is well liked because of her awesome singing and guitar playing, as well as her high level of interaction with fans by responding to comments and talking to them at her many shows. Watch any video on her channel and you'll be glad you did!





Irish lass Chloe Wilders is only 14 but has already done some live shows and written her own songs. Here's one called "Naked" - Chloe does a great job of singing and playing guitar, and listen to the lyrics, they're quite good! Watch her other videos, including her latest one "Gypsy" by Shakira, on her YouTube channel.





We have been watching and writing about OlgaKay for almost three years now. This young Russian actress and juggler living in LA has always been fun to watch and now she is getting the recognition she deserves. She stars in this beautifully made short interactive film about Circus life, which already has nearly 3 Million views and has just been up a little over a week. Olga keeps climbing up the YouTube Top 200 Weekly Chart of Most Subscribed channels. This week, she climbed three spots up to #121 Most Subscribed. It won't be long before she enters the Top 100!

We all know that YouTube has its share of self-serving attention whores and obnoxious rude haters, but there are plenty of good people there too! Let's have a look at some of the good things happening on YouTube. Here is just a small sample of people helping people.

But first, The News! We've been writing about current and future YouTubeStars for Three Years now! A lot has changed. Many of the popular people from YouTube's early days aren't even on the site anymore. But there are always new and interesting people coming along to keep us intrigued and entertained. We have written about many of the up and coming musicians on YouTube, and there is a channel that has been interviewing many of the people that we have written about. I'm referring to YouTraxTV. Michael Boyce does a great job of regularly interviewing YouTube musicians and puts the resulting videos on his website, youtrax.tv. These are in depth interviews often lasting 10 minutes and more! He has interviewed people we have written about, like TiffanyJoAllen, AngelicaV1, KristaHeartzuz and SavannahSings.

Celeste tells me, "There were two lead roles and I had one of them and their are about 6 musical numbers in the movie. I also recorded 5 songs on the soundtrack --- I had a blast --- For more information you can go to http://www.elevatingentertainment.com/. They will release updates on the movie." Now in post-production, the movie also has its own website. Looks like a pretty cool movie, congrats Celeste!

ShaneDawsonTV (17,746,076 Video Views), who moved up 5 positions to number 42 last week on our Top 100 Chart, has a vlog channel where he posts "behind the scenes videos and some special extras." This rising YouTubeStar is using his popularity to help other talented but lesser known YouTubers become the next YouTubeStar! Shane made this video showing some of the people he likes on YouTube, and asked for commenters to suggest their favorite lesser known YouTubers. He has received about 10 Thousand comments so far. Even better, he requested video responses, asking people to showcase their best stuff. So far, he as about 5000 video responses. Check some of them out!




SamProof is taking over the Battle of the YouTube NonStars, originally produced by JenLuv37. Nominations for Season 3 are closed after Sam got loads of response to the contest following this video being Featured on YouTube. Check it out and vote when the Battle begins. Julia, thefalsetruths, is shaving her head for a children's cancer charity. She has already surpassed her goal of raising $1000 with the help of SxePhil who mentioned her on one of his videos, at 2:30. She her original video and her update video on this charity event. Now here is Julia doing a fun video in which she sings into a hairbrush, enjoy!!!

I hope you're all having a wonderful Holiday Season! It's a busy time of year, but take a minute to watch these four videos. You'll see and hear four future Country Music Stars! Each of these young ladies has talent in singing and in playing the guitar. They are building a fanbase on YouTube so listen and Subscribe!

First, The News! What happened to YsabellaBrave? That's what her staunchest fans are asking on her website's Message Board. Here are the facts. Earlier this month, YsabellaBrave's music channel and her talk channel were suspended. Ysabella, a.k.a. MaryAnne, is one of the most popular singers on YouTube. The 29 year old, living in San Francisco, rose up the Top 100 Chart last year, peaking in the 20s back in the Spring of 2007. Although no longer in the Top 100, she had 35,636 Subscribers on December 7th, 2008. MaryAnne's popular covers of pop songs from the 1930s through more modern times, along with her original songs, led to discussions with Warner Brothers. MaryAnne recently said, "I was at one time signed with Warner until I dissolved my contract with them (which was incredibly difficult to do). I do not know if the issue youtube is having with Warner has any relevance to what happened to my channels or not." She refers to the recent order by Warner Music Group to YouTube that resulted in all Warner artists' music videos being removed from the site. This has also effected bands such as Red Hot Chili Peppers.

MaryAnne has had other troubles lately. It is said that she suffers from a chronic health concern and also lost her job in December. Even with all this, she left this positive post on her site on Christmas, "Merry Christmas and God bless us, every one!!!" If you would like to donate to MaryAnne, here is a link to her PayPal page. She has provided many hours of pleasure to her fans. Please consider giving something back to MaryAnne, I did!

Rachel Farley is a young singer with a voice that sounds like it comes from someone with years of singing history. She HAS been singing since she was 5, but she still sounds older than 13! Here's a video from Rachel in which she tells us about herself and her music. Be sure to listen to her Heidi Newfield cover of "Johnny and June" and her most recent video featuring an original song, "Country Christmas."





Savannah Berry is also 13 and also is a talented singer. She just started playing guitar but is already quite good at it! Here she is, on stage singing the Dolly Parton classic, "Jolene." Also watch her Hanna Montana cover of "I Miss You" from a year ago and her most recent vid "Probably Wouldn't Be This Way."




We've been writing about TiffanyJoAllen here since the Spring of 2007. I was one of her first 10 subscribers! Now, she has over 52 Thousand Subscribers and 12,123,215 Total Video Views! Tiffany Jo is 16 and has become quite a popular YouTubeStar! In this video, she is interviewed by the YouTraxTV team. be sure to also watch her "Santa Baby" video. She just uploaded it last week and it already has about a Quarter Million views! You can download an MP3 of the song for FREE on her website!





Celeste is a teenage singer who has already tasted success. She's been on Radio Disney and has sung on stage with the Jonas Brothers and Hanna Montana! Here is a preview of an original song called "Granddaddy's Island" which will soon be available on iTunes! Be sure to also watch her great cover of Shania Twain's "That Don't Impress Me Much" from last Spring, and the Preview of her other new original song, "My Jeans" from last week.
