Now, here is Christina's review of YouTube Makeup Gurus!

I just recently discovered one of my new favorite YouTube beauty gurus, Sunkissalba. I love that Alba explains everything thoroughly, while still keeping her videos brief and straight-forward. Specializing in neutral makeup, product reviews, and pointers on caring for curly hair, Alba caters to a wide audience of girls. This truly gorgeous girl has a sweet personality to match, and deserves to have a lot more eager subscribers coming her way! The video I've included was such a convincing review, that I ran out and bought the products the next day! I see big things in store for Alba in the world of YouTube beauty gurus.

MissJessicaHarlow is one of my all time favorite YouTube personalities. Jessica recreates some of the hottest celebrity makeup looks and hairstyles, while also dedicating videos to the basics for beginners. Her videos are clear and concise, while still showcasing her uplifting and fun personality. Not only is Jessica an expert on all things beauty related, but she also uploads great motivational videos. Her second channel, jessicaharlow, is dedicated mainly to motivational and inspirational videos that are focused on building your self esteem and helping you reach your goals. Jessica is proving to be a force to be reckoned with in the YouTube community, and she's accomplishing it all with great makeup and a positive attitude!

Iwanted2c1video is probably one of the most diverse beauty channels on YouTube. With tutorials ranging from everyday makeup to avant garde creations, Bethany is one of the most impressive makeup artists on YouTube. Bethany uploads tutorials frequently, including almost every holiday and special occasion - making her my first stop for great makeup inspiration! Her quirky personality and silly jokes make her a real joy to watch, and her thorough explanation make her a great teacher. She's quickly gaining a following, and rightfully so! Rock on, Bethany!

Sccastaneda is so honest and fun with her videos, you almost feel like you know her personally. Sonia specializes in celebrity looks, product reviews, hair tutorials, vlogs, and more - She really does it all! Using a mixture of drugstore and high end products makes it easy for anyone to recreate her looks, giving her a wide following of all ages and styles. Her reviews are thorough, her tutorials are easy to follow, and her vlogs keep your attention. Sonia is beautiful, fun, talented, and silly - A surefire combination for YouTube beauty guru success.

YouTube is a great showcase for talented musicians! Some YouTubers have been signed by recording companies, like Esmée Denters (Tennman-Interscope) and Alyssa Bernal (Star Trak-Interscope). There are many other popular YT musicians like Mia Rose, Terra Naomi, Tay Zonday, Savannah Outen, Marié Digby, YsabellaBrave and Tiffany Jo Allen. We have mentioned most of these artists here on YouTubeStars and we are always bringing you the newest Future YouTubeStars!

Here's something cool and totally different - Popcorn! Watch the fun video that goes with this original techno tune. See other videos by Enquvist, here.

Nowhere - I love this pleasing pop song from school buddies Keira and Ellie. According to their YouTube Channel, "VerleeRose is... Keira Verlee and Ellie Rose. We are two 15 year old singer/songwriters from Seattle, WA." Watch this music vid for their original song - it will make you smile!

Robot Band - This is a strong indie punk rock tune from Galt Aureus. They have a new album out, and you can read more about it at their website. You can also watch this video which announces the album.

We all know that YouTube has its share of self-serving attention whores and obnoxious rude haters, but there are plenty of good people there too! Let's have a look at some of the good things happening on YouTube. Here is just a small sample of people helping people.

But first, The News! We've been writing about current and future YouTubeStars for Three Years now! A lot has changed. Many of the popular people from YouTube's early days aren't even on the site anymore. But there are always new and interesting people coming along to keep us intrigued and entertained. We have written about many of the up and coming musicians on YouTube, and there is a channel that has been interviewing many of the people that we have written about. I'm referring to YouTraxTV. Michael Boyce does a great job of regularly interviewing YouTube musicians and puts the resulting videos on his website, youtrax.tv. These are in depth interviews often lasting 10 minutes and more! He has interviewed people we have written about, like TiffanyJoAllen, AngelicaV1, KristaHeartzuz and SavannahSings.

I hope you're all having a wonderful Holiday Season! It's a busy time of year, but take a minute to watch these four videos. You'll see and hear four future Country Music Stars! Each of these young ladies has talent in singing and in playing the guitar. They are building a fanbase on YouTube so listen and Subscribe!

First, The News! What happened to YsabellaBrave? That's what her staunchest fans are asking on her website's Message Board. Here are the facts. Earlier this month, YsabellaBrave's music channel and her talk channel were suspended. Ysabella, a.k.a. MaryAnne, is one of the most popular singers on YouTube. The 29 year old, living in San Francisco, rose up the Top 100 Chart last year, peaking in the 20s back in the Spring of 2007. Although no longer in the Top 100, she had 35,636 Subscribers on December 7th, 2008. MaryAnne's popular covers of pop songs from the 1930s through more modern times, along with her original songs, led to discussions with Warner Brothers. MaryAnne recently said, "I was at one time signed with Warner until I dissolved my contract with them (which was incredibly difficult to do). I do not know if the issue youtube is having with Warner has any relevance to what happened to my channels or not." She refers to the recent order by Warner Music Group to YouTube that resulted in all Warner artists' music videos being removed from the site. This has also effected bands such as Red Hot Chili Peppers.

MaryAnne has had other troubles lately. It is said that she suffers from a chronic health concern and also lost her job in December. Even with all this, she left this positive post on her site on Christmas, "Merry Christmas and God bless us, every one!!!" If you would like to donate to MaryAnne, here is a link to her PayPal page. She has provided many hours of pleasure to her fans. Please consider giving something back to MaryAnne, I did!

Now, The Videos!

Rachel Farley is a young singer with a voice that sounds like it comes from someone with years of singing history. She HAS been singing since she was 5, but she still sounds older than 13! Here's a video from Rachel in which she tells us about herself and her music. Be sure to listen to her Heidi Newfield cover of "Johnny and June" and her most recent video featuring an original song, "Country Christmas."

Savannah Berry is also 13 and also is a talented singer. She just started playing guitar but is already quite good at it! Here she is, on stage singing the Dolly Parton classic, "Jolene." Also watch her Hanna Montana cover of "I Miss You" from a year ago and her most recent vid "Probably Wouldn't Be This Way."

We've been writing about TiffanyJoAllen here since the Spring of 2007. I was one of her first 10 subscribers! Now, she has over 52 Thousand Subscribers and 12,123,215 Total Video Views! Tiffany Jo is 16 and has become quite a popular YouTubeStar! In this video, she is interviewed by the YouTraxTV team. be sure to also watch her "Santa Baby" video. She just uploaded it last week and it already has about a Quarter Million views! You can download an MP3 of the song for FREE on her website!

Celeste is a teenage singer who has already tasted success. She's been on Radio Disney and has sung on stage with the Jonas Brothers and Hanna Montana! Here is a preview of an original song called "Granddaddy's Island" which will soon be available on iTunes! Be sure to also watch her great cover of Shania Twain's "That Don't Impress Me Much" from last Spring, and the Preview of her other new original song, "My Jeans" from last week.

I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving with your family and friends. Now it's time to Shop! The 2008 Holiday Season has begun. Don't get trampled by the crowds, shop online! Watch these four music videos from four excellent singers, then click on this ad for Amazon.com and do your Holiday Shopping from the comfort of your own home. You'll save money too; Amazon has excellent deals. Happy Holidays!

First, the News! Things are changing at YouTube. I'm sure you've noticed the new wider video box. Some YouTube videos are now being shown in HD, producing a much clearer picture. There are also more ads than ever on YouTube, but that's understandable - they have to find a way to pay the huge bills for storage and bandwidth.

There's also a shift in what content is allowed and what content is promoted. YouTube is in the process of an image makeover by promoting their new YouTube Symphony and by making it harder to find sexually oriented material. At YouTube's Symphony Orchestra page, we read, "We invite musicians from around the world to audition for the YouTube Symphony Orchestra. Your video entries will be combined into the first ever collaborative virtual performance, and the world will select the best of you to perform at New York City's Carnegie Hall in April 2009." Get out your Cellos and Violins and make your entry video!

In a follow-up to my very popular article, "Sex on YouTube," I would like to report that YouTube is changing its policy on sexually suggestive content, effective immediately. Content flagged by viewers and reviewed by staff deemed to have sexually explicit content are age restricted and will no longer be promoted on Most Viewed lists and Honor pages. No one who has given a date of birth when they made their account which would indicate that they are under 18 will be able to watch these videos, and they should now be harder to find for everyone.

What is considered sexually suggestive? Here's part of the answer, from YouTube's Help page on Age-Restricted videos:

"Videos featuring sexually explicit content like real sex acts are not allowed. Other content like nudity and dramatized or implied sexual conduct may be considered sexually suggestive depending on whether or not it is intended or designed to arouse viewers.

Nudity includes exposed or partially covered genitalia, buttocks, or breasts, as well as sheer clothing. Videos featuring individuals in minimal or revealing clothing may also be age-restricted if they're intended to elicit a sexual response."

Please read YouTube's Help page for more on this.

And Now, On With The Show!!!

Here's a young and talented singer named Rachel Farley, singing her excellent cover version of Taylor Swift's hit, "Love Story." I'm not even going to tell you how old this young lady is, you wouldn't believe it anyway! Rachel sounds like she's been singing for a very long time. She has a great voice and is also quite a good guitar player. Rachel has many live shows coming up in both Tennessee and Georgia. Visit her MySpace page to hear 6 great country songs and to see a list of her Upcoming Shows. I predict that we'll all be hearing a lot more from Rachel in the coming years!

Here's Celeste with a fun cover of Shania Twain's song, "That Don't Impress Me Much." Celeste substitutes Jonas Brothers for Shania's references to Elvis and Rocket Scientists in this music video guaranteed to make you smile. Celeste is quite a good singer and has already had success with Radio Disney. Her MySpace page says, "Throughout 2006-2007 Celeste opened for Raven in Concert, The Jonas Brothers and performed at The Kelly Clarkson -Addicted to Love Tour- and the Cheetah Girls/Hannah Montana Concerts." Very impressive!

The fun continues with this lipsynch from one of my favorite YouTubers, the lovely and talented CelestialSam. Wikipedia says, "'Anything You Can Do' is a song composed by Irving Berlin for the 1946 Broadway musical, Annie Get Your Gun. The song is a spirited duet, with one male singer and one female singer attempting to out-do each other in increasingly complex tasks." Sam collabs with Aaron of APriceProduction in this charming vid. Watch; it's great!

Yes, it is officially the Holiday Season. Let me be the first to wish you a Merry Christmas! If you don't celebrate Christmas, have a happy holiday or a wonderful winter solstice! Regardless of which way you lean in holiday preferences, I'm sure you'll enjoy this beautiful performance of a holiday classic by MeRubyCollins. Ruby has 75 videos up on YouTube for your listening pleasure, go check them out! You can also buy her three CDs at CDBaby.
